The Bodum double wall Canteen Cooler glasses are 13 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant, and cafe and are a definite conversation piece. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

I have been very careful with these, yet have have broken two of four glasses purchased less than a year ago. The slightest knock (from ice or spoons) is apt to start cracks in the glass. The product "Editor's Note" now explains that the manufacturer warns of these risks. In my opinion, the strong likelihood of breakage from the most minor accident makes these glasses worthless.

We got the glasses when they were scheduled, and we really like the way they keep our ice water cold without sweating. I know the glass was not dropped. However, one glass broke almost immediately despite the general care we use. The inside of the glass just shattered, as it was sitting on the counter. We have never put them in the dishwasher. The remaining glasses are functioning as they were intended.
They go beautifully in the dishwasher with no problem. I purchased these glasses in a speciality store in North Carolina for 2 for $20. I love these glasses but wish they were larger. I've had them almost a year. I was disappointed to see a misleading add on the price from Amazon since I have been a good customer.
